What happened when two strangers; one a songwriter from London

& the other a guitarist from California, met in Melbourne, Australia?

They recruited the most handsome rhythm section in the city,

and created the best new-wave garage-pop ensemble the country

has ever heard.

This is the ongoing story of The Solicitors...

The group formed in late 2012, and on the strength of their demos alone the band were picked up by local indie label Popboomerang Records before they had even played a gig. They released their debut EP 'Made To Measure'in July the next year. The record garnered rave reviews in both national and international print media (a glowing review from the Sydney Morning Herald, a feature in Big Takeover magazine US as one of the releases of 2013, and Parisian music magazine 'Magic's 'Espoir 2014' some of the many highlights). The release received some great airplay at home and abroad, and glowing praise from countless music blogs world-wide, leading to licensing deals in Japan and the US.

“The perfect bit of teenage energy and adult (lyrical) sharpness under a tight suit. Make room for this"

Bernard Zuel, Sydney Morning Herald (AUS)

“Made To Measure abounds with energy and crunch – along with hooks made for the radio. Their melodies are strong, the production is topnotch, and Jones is a songwriter of considerable potential” Faster&Louder (AUS)

“So catchy, this EP is a hit in the making if ever I heard one! Outstanding!”

Alan Haber's Pure Pop Radio Show (US)

The groups reputation grew as one of the city's must-see live acts, and before long the audiences were growing too(The band are now playing to some of the biggest venues across Melbourne with national and international tours scheduled for 2014). As their stock continued to rise November 2013 saw the release of a digital only single, and The Solicitors first music video, for their track 'Quicksand'

In 2014 the band kicked off the year by releasing 'Help Me Forget' exclusively on their Triple J Unearthed page. The track got some great reviews and radio-play and made sure the foot remained firmly on the gas.
